Customize the coverage you want from the brush by sliding the retractable sleeve up or down. 

To achieve fuller coverage when applying creams, slide the sleeve down slightly to expose only the top of the bristles, and apply using a buffing motion. For lighter coverage when applying powders, slide the sleeve down fully to expose all of the bristles, and apply using a sweeping motion.
